This Year’s Last Post From Thailand

Living in a five star hotel with a baby is a unique experience. I am not sure if I stressed out enough how much love we get from our extended family, the people who work in this hotel.

Today I decorated the staff canteen’s wall with pictures of Zoárd and them. I remember when we arrived from Barcelona and Zoárd was 4 months old, I did not want anyone to hold him.
But now I am more relaxed about it.

Image
I used to come to the gym when it was Zoárd’s nap time. The girls quickly took him out of his pram before I could prevent it so what else could I have done: I took a picture of them! Cute!

Image
As I said, now I am OK with others holding him. Though interestingly, today a hotel guest picked Zoárd up and I felt that it made me uncomfortable.  Do you have any thoughts on this?

Image
I really have lots of pictures of Zoárd being popular but I need to set a limit here.

Image
I can still show you this picture without getting carried away. This is proof that I showed Zoárd the spa…

Image
… the adult play room…

Image
I could have taken hundreds of pictures here.

Image
This is something that never happens. We keep away from the pool and let the guests enjoy the sun beds but I spotted that a family left these two sun beds waiting for me to take pictures. Zoárd was in deep thinking mode so I had my fun! HAHA

Image
I know it is slightly random that I am showing you my lunch but I like that it is Thai and Western.

Image
I will continue blogging from Hungary and Spain so you will see more of me and my family. And now I would like to encourage you to try to guess:
which rapper dresses in a way that reminded my husband of Zoárd’s look (vest).

Life Does Not Stop

Yeah, yeah, yeah… we are moving. We started packing. Life does not stop just because we are doing this. Again. No matter how many times we pack and unpack, we still need to go on with our normal life. Did I just say normal life?!

Image
By the way. Just so you know. Packing makes me uneasy. I look like a chick with loads of girl power on this pic but my husband did the dog part of the work. It is an expression. “Dog part of the work”. What do you mean: in what language?!

In my previous posts, I decided to show Zoárd the hotel we have been living in for the past 7 months. Would you like to guess which part of the hotel we visited today?

Take your guess now because it will just get easier as you roll down…. No, this is not another doggie expression of mine…

I Need To Change – You Will Agree

Today I realized (again) that I am not the mother of the year when it comes to “introducing solid foods”.

Five days from now, we will step in to a different world. No more isolation. I might even meet up with other mothers and their babies. And the question will come up: what and how does Zoárd eat.

Like a dog… I put food from my plate in to his mouth while he is standing next to me.

Image
How sweet: father and son tea time? No. Our son is waiting for the left-overs.

The situation is not as bad as I make it sound. I hope. But I need to go towards more traditional ways of offering food to our little one.

Image
Since we live in a hotel room, you can guess that in our room, we do not have a high chair and a lovely, round, family table to sit down to. Zoárd can either sit on the floor or stand.

Image
He was playing with his rocker when I surprised him with a bib and some fresh mango.

Image
It is not like we are banned from the restaurant of the hotel. We have lunch there every day.

Image
Zoárd loves the restaurant but he is not used to sitting in a high chair for long.

Image
And lunch time is not his favorite time of the day to be tasting new flavors. But in this picture I popped some fresh coconut in his mouth and he was very thrilled about it. Stop judging me, he is a baby. This is his happy face. HAHA

Image
I think we can put a check mark next to “showing the restaurant”. And now you already know what I am trying to improve in the future.

Image
Here we are with proper pureed food, which I am spoon feeding Zoárd.

Image
The chefs who cook for us are Hungarian. If you were wondering. There are four of them and I have a list in my room to help me order my food. I am a picky eater and I figured out that these four guys have different strengths.

Image
All of them can make me a ratatouille with rice noodles but only one of them puts his heart in it. Oh if they would know my little rating system… HAHA

Image
The head chef always makes me my noodle with parmesan and buffalo mozzarella cheese. Tomatoes are a must in all meals of mine.

Image
Exceptions do exist. Strictly on Sundays. (I only eat sweets on Sundays.)

Do you have a favorite snack?

How Do You Feel About Gossiping?

Well, how do you feel about gossiping?

I always admire those who say that gossiping is an unpleasant characteristic of a person and it is much more appealing if you do not talk behind other people’s back. I even see the logic that if you notice someone gossiping about others, you can be sure that that person will also talk about you, when you are not around.

I would love to join the group of nice people who have manners, unlike me and resist gossiping. I personally cannot imagine how they do it or how You do it, if you happen to be one of those good people.

Talking about other people is a habit of mine. Even if I would chat about something else with my husband such as … dinner on Christmas Eve or a new restaurant that just opened up… (I guess the other topic that comes to my mind to talk about is food… HAHA). I know that eventually, I would end up discussing who should not be invited to the Christmas dinner and who are my favorite couple to go out with, when there is a new happening like the opening of a cool place.

Is it worse if I also like to talk about strangers? Or is that considered more polite? I mean… less rude.

My husband and I used to go to the gym together (long, long time ago) and we would occasionally talk about someone worth talking about. Occasionally. Right.

This was my introduction to the gym theme by the way.

Image
Here is Zoárd examining the weights at the hotel’s gym (we live in a hotel if you are new to my blog).

Image
If I would have endless time, I would love running on the treadmill while looking at the view. I would run endlessly.

Image
Some say that gyms are cold, heartless places, full of machines. I think a good machine is priceless for a good work-out.
Where do you stand on this matter?

Image
Did you miss my face? Here I am! Making sure my baby is as safe as a baby can be at a gym. Seriously, I let Zoárd explore a lot of places meant for adults to be around at but you really have to be there, mentally to prevent an accident.

Image
Do you measure yourself? If you have kids, do you measure them? Is it gossiping if you tell me how much your partner weighs?

Leaving Thailand For a While

A week from now, we are flying to Hungary for the holidays. And from January, we will be living in Barcelona again for 3 months.

I would like to make the most of our time here and one way of doing this is to show Zoárd new areas of the hotel. New for him that is.

We have been all living in a hotel room for almost 7 months now and since Zoárd is becoming more and more curious of the world, why hide it from him?!

I will try to post every day before we fly off: my husband to Barcelona to look for a flat for us and Zoárd and I will land in Budapest waiting for him.

In my last post, Zoárd experienced the inside of the yoga studio.

Image
He is chilling by the salt bricks. This is the back of the yoga studio.

Image
The hotel also has a movie theater. I picked out many, many of the movies that you can watch here.

Image
Zoárd tested one of the bean bags (with my help)… HAHA

Image
He also had a good look at the steam room.

Image
And the sauna.

Which one do you prefer? Steam room or sauna?

Image
This is something new for all of us: we are letting Zoárd play on the terrace. Supervised.

Image
You can tell that he is having a great time with all the positive energies of freedom floating around. Did I just project that on him?! HAHA
Anyways, I think space for moving around is good for a baby.

Image
This is as close as he can get to Nature.

Are you a Nature Lover of more of a City Kid?

Image
Close your eyes. Imagine that you could live anywhere on this planet except for the country you are currently living in. Where would you go?

What Is Your Environment Like?

I want to be fair with myself when the question comes up: “what is lovely about Thailand?”
I refuse to answer by saying: divine massages, gorgeous water falls and small islands you can hop to with a speed boat.
One may speak theoretically but I choose not to.

Here is a bit of my reality which is not a field for complaining either…

Image
Friendly view.

Image
A car that most men find pleasant.

Image
We are privileged to have a car seat.

Image
Our home right now is small but while we live in a five star hotel’s room, others live very differently from us…

Image
Dogs don’t have a name but they got lots of freedom.

Image
I decided to show something to Zoárd every day even if it is indoors.

Image
Today we had a nice time at the yoga studio. Speaking of must go… class starts in nine minutes…

What do you think of your environment?
