About

I am 33. I am an English-speaking mommy to a Hungarian baby. I am the big love of my husband who nowadays works too much. I found my husband 121 months ago and I am the luckiest chick. I used to work as a psychologist. I like eating noodles with eggs and tomatoes which I do almost every day. I have lived in Hungary, US, UK, Spain and Thailand. I have worked at a ministry of defense; a karaoke club for Japanese business men; Jack in the Box; private psychiatric ward; hotels etc.
I currently live on an island in Thailand because of my husband’s work. He is the general manager of a five star hotel. The three of us moved in to the hotel.

  1. Just found your blog. Really enjoying it!

Where in Thailand are you guys? We went to Phuket earlier this year and we will be going to Chiang Mai in a few months. We really loved Thailand. I imagine it could be a little lonely. I find myself lonely quite a bit (we live in Korea) even thought there’s a big network of other expats. It’s such a great life, but definitely comes with its own set of problems.

      • Yay!! Congrats my lovely 🙂 You can use the image from my post, its just the general one, and add whichever facts and bloggers you want to nominate… hope that makes sense?! x

      • Blushing here… grandma sits down by his rocks… How do I make the image stay on the side of my blog. Isn’t that what we are supposed to do? Or I just download the image and use it as a photo in my post?

      • You can do either, I hadn’t though to put it in my sidebar, good idea 🙂 If you go to appearance > widgets in your admin screen, you can drag the ‘image’ widget into left or right sidebar, then add the picture 🙂 Although some blog themes don’t let you add stuff so might have to play around a bit! x

      • I mostly have photos of my daughter, but sometimes I take some of us together at arms-length. If you use Instagram, you can find me @jenasommerkim ! Its quite rare that I have photos of myself unless I am with friends or ask a stranger to take a picture 😉

    • I was playing with the idea of having a word with you (since I only did it in my head I did not have a lot of chance of hearing your opinion… HAHA)…

It is something I am curious about. Some people have many hundreds of followers and others have way less even though they have been blogging for a while.

And then there was that day when I was reblogged by you and tons of people liked my post. I was never able to reach half of that popularity though I do not think that particular post of mine was such a big deal (it did not have pictures in it and I love to add pictures that is a trade mark of mine.. ). Sometime later I was reblogged by someone else who is almost as popular as you but it did not make such a huge impact on my blog. After the project o post I had many that who decided to follow… I guess that is another interesting phenomenon… those who followed me because of you are not the ones who comment on my blog…

I guess all of this is confusing for me and since I can articulate an actual question towards you… maybe that is why it is better to have these conversations in my head…

If you do have an opinion on what I just wrote, do not be shy… oh you never are! HAHA

      • Well there are good reasons for the above statements. First, my blog is more active than most blogs my size because I work hard to find people that are actual commenters and readers. Secondly, my followers also read my reblogs which is not true for many blogs. That is something that is a product of hard work and sifting enough sand to find gold. Gold to me is a follower that not only reads but also comments and shares input. That is the whole reason for my blog, to put my work out there and to get feedback. Otherwise I wouldn’t put in the effort. This project is really a test run for future projects which I hope to do with other bloggers in collaboration in differing issues. I will post more about that soon! Thanks again and I hope that answers some of your questions? My blog is still new, started in January, so perhaps my followers just aren’t tired of me yet. I am sure there will be a new flavor of the month shortly. 🙂

      • Well I will keep an eye on for collaborating matters… I like to join in… I enjoy the community sense of blogging and you are right about the putting effort in it… I am planning an outfit of the day or/and child related photo sharing for Saturday and it is a lot of work to get people to participate and to remember to give credit to each other… Anyways, thank you for writing back so quickly… I appreciate it!

  2. Hi! I haven’t been on my blog for wayyy too long! I’ve just spent some time reading through the posts that I’ve missed, and I love all your photos! My little boy is 4 months old now, and I can’t believe how much he has grown!
I wanted to let you know that I’ve created a website for parents in Thailand, (it’s still in the early stages), but I was wondering if you would be interested in joining? Once registered you can see forum posts and member profiles.
Also, if you’re interested in writing a blog post about living in Thailand, I’d love to feature it!
    You can see it here:
    http://www.parentlinkthailand.com
If you have a moment, it would be great if you wanted to start writing on the forum to start to create a little community.
Hope you and your family are doing well!

    • Hey,
Good to hear from you again… it has been a while! How are you holding on? Are you having fun? 🙂
We are about to leave Thailand for a while. We fly to Hungary and then to Spain. Ten days from now. We will experience the winter in Europe. 😉
However, I will have a look at the link you have sent me and thank you for thinking of me!

  3. Hope all is well. Just thinking of you! I haven’t been able to connect as much with my fast pace travels through Australia and New Zealand, but know that I think of you and hope you are well. How did the move go?
    Jess

    • You are so kind. I just wish I could write about it more in details but I have to watch what I write, not to hurt anyone’s feelings who lives on this island or in this country…
